I'm not a runner. I've never been a very good one even when I tried. My dad always tried to get me to run 5ks with him when I was in elementary school. (And now he's trying to get Mackenzie to run with him, and she is much more willing.) But I must say. I am intrigued by this Muddy Buddy thing. I saw it in a local magazine. It had an article about these two women who were going to compete in all the Muddy Buddy races throughout the country. They called themselves 'Team Bionic Thong', and they wore a thong on their bicycle helmets. Apparently they have a costume contest to go along with this competition.
So what is it? Here's the description from the website:
Both partners start at the same time, one running and one biking. The course is approximately 6 miles long and is separated into 5 legs by obstacles along the way. The first obstacle is near the one mile mark. Assuming that the biker is traveling faster than the runner, the biker will approach the first obstacles transition area first. The biker will drop the bike and conquer the obstacle and start running to the 2nd transition/obstacle. The runner will then approach the first transition area, conquer the obstacle, find the bike and start riding to the 2nd transition/obstacle area. The team will continue to leap frog throughout the course switching from biking and running along the way. Because the course has five legs. The person who is the stronger biker should begin the race biking, and the stronger runners, should start out running so they are doing three legs of their stronger discipline, and two of the other.
There will be five obstacles on each Muddy Buddy course. Mystery events could be challenges such as a cargo net crawl, a wall, monkey bars, or a hay bale obstacle. At every race teams will have to conquer the famous Mud Pit before crossing the finish line together.
I usually get really excited about these kinds of things and then don't do anything about it. But a mud pit?!? Come on!!! And monkey bars???? I wanna start training now!!!

Hmmm, Sounds interesting. I think I'll stick to my "Walk Away the Pounds" videos!
Come on papi. You don't want to wear your underwear on your head and wallow through a big mud pit?
My underwear are to big to wear on my helmet. I'd have to wrap them around a couple of times and tie them. People would think that's where I keep my extra shirt.
